Something I've been getting into more lately is branching out with my makeup looks. I used to find myself reaching for the same products or types of products every time I went to Ulta. So this year it's my goal to switch things up a little!
Last week, I received one of the best products I've ever received from Influenster. I was super pumped when I got the email letting me know that I was in the campaign for Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin foundation. Make Up For Ever is a brand that I've heard nothing but good things about and I've always wanted to try! Now that I finally got the chance, I can honestly say that it lives up to the hype!
Before I even received my box, I knew I was going to love it because of the shade range. Most foundation shades that claim to be "fair" tend to be too orange or yellow for this ginger. That was definitely not the case here! I ended up choosing the shade Y205, which is the lightest shade available. This shade ended up being a perfect match to my natural skin tone!
I'm someone that loves a good full coverage look, and I was able to achieve that with foundation. One thing that I love is how lightweight it feels when it is on your skin. It is definitely as breathable as it claims to be! I set it with a light setting powder and it looked so smooth! I've found that most foundations that claim to be 24-hour coverage & or waterproof start to look cakey throughout the day, or even right after applying. After using it for a few days, I didn't feel like my face looked cakey. Overall, I really liked this foundation, and would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to try this brand or a new full coverage foundation.
